Does the CPC Enforce the Omnibus Price Rule in Bulgaria?

In short, yes. Bulgaria’s Commission for Consumer Protection — the КЗП, or CPC — is the national authority responsible for consumer-protection rules, and that includes the price-reduction duties introduced by the EU Omnibus Directive. The Directive, (EU) 2019/2161, has applied since 28 May 2022 and is transposed into Bulgarian law, which the CPC supervises.

What the CPC is looking at

The headline duty is the 30-day rule: when you announce a price reduction, the prior price you compare against must be the lowest price you charged for that item in the 30 days beforehand. This exists to stop a price being briefly inflated so a later discount looks bigger than it is. The CPC oversees these consumer-protection obligations as the national authority.

• Keep a price history so you can show the lowest price of the previous 30 days for anything on sale.
