1. 28 May 2022

   Omnibus Directive applies

   Price-reduction "prior price" rule, review transparency and marketplace disclosures take effect.

2. 13 Dec 2024

   GPSR applies

   The General Product Safety Regulation replaces the old directive: responsible person, Article 19 online info, Safety Gate.

3. 2 Feb 2025

   AI Act — prohibited practices

   The first AI Act rules banning unacceptable-risk practices start to apply.

4. 28 Jun 2025

   European Accessibility Act applies

   Consumer-facing online shops must meet accessibility requirements (EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA).

5. 2 Aug 2025

   AI Act — GPAI obligations

   General-purpose AI model obligations and governance provisions begin.

6. 31 Jul 2026

   Right to Repair — national transposition

   Member States must have transposed the Right to Repair Directive into national law.

7. 2 Aug 2026

   AI Act — high-risk rules

   The bulk of the high-risk AI system obligations start to apply.

8. 12 Aug 2026

   PPWR general application

   The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation applies, with many obligations phasing in later.

9. 18 Feb 2027

   Battery passport

   The first mandatory Digital Product Passport arrives for LMT, industrial (>2 kWh) and EV batteries.

10. 2027 onward

    Digital Product Passport roll-out

    DPP requirements phase in for priority groups (textiles, iron & steel and more) via ESPR delegated acts.
